Notebook Pages

This semester, I set up a showcase at Parsons featuring a curated collection of my notebooks from 1984 through 2014. Here are some tasty highlights from that adventure.

This is the front and back cover of a 2005 notebook. Lots of old timey stuff to be seen here: a photo insert from a first-generation iPod Shuffle, fun old pics of the kiddies (including one from the i-Zone  camera), a sticker I got when I joined the Phantom Planet fan club, fruit stickers galore and a piece of a Tord Boontje curtain that I snagged from a friend.

Here's a spread from one of my summer 2013 notebooks. The left page is printing samples from an invitation suite that I designed for my dear friend's wedding. The right has the listings for the first set of apartments we looked at when we were selling our house (we saw 23 in total but ended up taking the duplex loft that's listed here). The photos are some of my faves from a series that my daughter shot from our driveway in Queens at twilight.

This is from the inside front cover of one of my 2001 notebooks: a real treasure. I dipped into some of my vintage Contac paper samples for the POISON labels and that super sweet directional arrow. The photo is a Polaroid test that Anna Palma shot of my kids for a story in Nick Jr. And my jumbo melon sticker is pretty awesome because of that nutty seed disclaimer.

Fun with collage on a 2013 notebook cover!! SO many tidbits here...lots of 1Direction stickers, the lid from an Anthro candle, a promo card from one of my super-fab students (Vania Wat), an old timey supermarket coupon for Joy, a few packaging elements from my Herschel iPad case and some excellent silhouetted heads that were promo stickers from a photographer.
